Didn’t know much about technology
I now have more confidence communicating with my child's school and I didn't' know much about technology, but now I can even download an app.

I am finding these classes extremely helpful, and feeling a little less intimidated by technology I struggle to understand.

As a former teacher…
I really enjoyed talking with the young people. It is [nice] to have the tables turned -- the kids being the teachers. As a former teacher, I thoroughly enjoyed this. Was pleased with the patience the kids had with us older folks. Keep doing this. It is wonderful on many levels.

We need these skills
I salute the organization for its work. We older folks need these skills or we will be left behind in our culture. So much seems to be done "on line" that just to survive one needs to know how to use these. Just like we learned how to use the early telephones years ago.

The students' enthusiasm and willingness to listen and help are wonderful. I have Windows 8 and think there's hope in getting the AARP RealPad! Thanks! Students are inspiring--it's good to be given confidence!

Why I Volunteer
I volunteer because I think that there’s a lot of things that—not necessarily need help—but can be improved. Nowadays a lot of kids don’t feel as attached to their community as senior citizens were and I think that we play an important part in our community.

High school teachers when they hear kids go, like, “aha”, like, they say, I love it when I hear kids say that, when they have that AHA moment. Now I kind of get a sense of that too…when I’m helping someone figure out a new challenge and making progress—and they’re like “ahh I get it now!” That makes me feel good, to be able to help that discovery.

T4T at Grand Way Commons
The Technology for Tomorrow program is awesome and such a gift to the community!! The classes were offered at Grand Way for @ 10-12 seniors and they absolutely raved about it!! Carly presents the material in a very understandable fashion and the volunteers are knowledgeable and very patient and attentive. We are going to offer it again! I would highly recommend this class and am delighted to have it offered at GWC.

Exciting addition to our community
Tech 4 Tomorrow has been such an exciting addition to our community, and our residents are very happy to have such individualized attention. Residents are so eager to learn from the students that they are asking daily about the next seminar to be scheduled; many who had never used a computer before. This has truly been a fantastic pairing, and we look forward to a long term relationship.
