Testimonials

Vermont Works for Women (VWW) is grateful for its partnership with Technology for Tomorrow to teach an Introduction to Computer Literacy class as part of a grant with AALV to deliver career development workshops to New American and refugee women. The instructor, who taught the twelve-week sessions to over twenty women, was personable, adaptable and creative, and successfully increased computer use knowledge for many women who had various levels of education and limited English language skills. With the help of multiple language interpreters, she was able to quickly connect with the women, gain their trust and adjust her lessons to meet the individual needs of each participant. She even brought toys and activities for young children so their mothers could come to class and focus on their lessons. At the completion of the class, participants expressed gratitude for their new skills, reduced fear of using a computer, and a desire to continue their computer literacy journey. This class was the perfect beginning and springboard into the remaining career development workshops for women being delivered by VWW through the remainder of the grant period.

We have contracted Technology for Tomorrow to provide computer classes for both our staff and the participants we serve via our employment readiness programs. This T4T team is mission driven, organized, versatile and willing to personalize their courses for optimal relevance to the students in front of them. They are flexible with scheduling, adaptable to student needs, extremely resourceful, and friendly- a pure joy to work with. We are already seeing a long-term impact from their instruction on our staff’s professional development and effective service delivery. Two thumbs up!

Technology for Tomorrow (T4T) has helped to develop a new level of confidence with technology for our clients. The entire team at T4T has been integral to the success of our Creative Care Kit program, a program focusing on creative expression through arts and technology. Communication between our two organizations has been easy to schedule and fluid, with T4T always eagers and willing to iterate, improve, and support as needed. Participants in our program had an initial phone training with a highly qualified T4T trainer, followed by a Zoom training to help them get up to speed on the iPads we provided through the program. Our program participants have had very positive experiences with the T4T trainer, describing him as patient and helpful. We are excited to continue our partnership and developing new ways to support older adults as they build technology skills.

When Brattleboro became a refugee resettlement site last October, we were lucky to find T4T as ready and able partners in providing support to our New Vermonter community members, many of whom had never used computers before. Over the course of the training provided by T4T, participants got the basic skills, competence, and confidence they needed to start using technology to meet their needs and help reach personal goals, ranging from learning how to communicate using email and navigate town using google maps, to searching for events and opportunities available in the community. Trainers were responsive, adaptive, and patient with both organizers and participants of the training, and T4T’s experience and commitment to serving New Americans is exemplary.

We have been working with Technology for Tomorrow for the past several years to lead classes for our members on a variety of topics. We are continuously impressed with the instructors’ level of knowledge, clear and concise presentation, and personal approach. It doesn’t matter if there are 10 people in the class or 50, the instructors have figured out the perfect balance of ensuring everyone gets their questions asked while still delivering a high level of support to the entire group. In addition, our collaboration with T4T has been instrumental in helping to ease our audience into a more digital world during the pandemic, and I highly recommend their services to other organizations working with older Vermonters.

Partnering with Technology for Tomorrow (T4T) has been a vital component of our Lifelong Learning Program here at Wake Robin Lifecare Community for almost a decade. Working with various T4T offerings to educate our residents on successful navigation of the ever-changing world of technology, we have seen an increase in confidence, as well as a reduction in stress related to technology. T4T’s thoughtful and comprehensive programs geared toward older adults offer an opportunity for a deep dive into areas that empower our residents to try new things, leading to stronger and more easeful connections with family and friends, and a more organized approach to managing the essentials of daily living. The instructors are highly knowledgeable and attentive, fantastic to collaborate with, and able to deftly navigate offering support to the group as well as individual coaching. Our residents complete the classes with a stronger feeling of well-being and safety related to engaging with the exciting opportunities offered in our digital world.

Technology for Tomorrow (T4T) is a longstanding partner of Associates for Training and Development (A4TD). T4T provides digital literacy instruction for participants who are enrolled in our workforce development projects. Vijay and his team are professional, respectful, and a pleasure to work with. The T4T trainers are patient and responsive to our participant’s challenges and needs, and their instructional approach is welcoming, relatable, and effective. After completing a T4T class, one of our participants stated: “Ranga’s class was both informative and fun. He is a natural born teacher and I can honestly say I was sad when the class ended. I would gladly take any class he presents in the future and consider it a gift”. We look forward to working with T4T on future projects.

The Montpelier Senior Activity Center and its members greatly benefitted from the Technology for Tomorrow sessions and appreciate their support of older adults learning technology. We’ve heard from our members. It is very evident that there is a great need for tech classes for older adults, because they don’t always have tech support around them. As one member writes, “I don’t have children of my own or right around me, and so I don’t have the tech tutors that my friends receive from their kids.” Technology for Tomorrow provides easy-to-follow sessions, which make even complicated tech questions more accessible for the non-tech-savvy among us. As another member writes, “Sometimes I want to throw away my tablet because it is too difficult to operate, but you made it feel easy to learn.” We’re grateful for these tech learning sessions and hope to have them return to our Senior Activity Center very soon.

We cannot thank T4T enough for all that they do for job seekers in our community! We worked closely with Vijay, Becky and Maliki to set up and run a 5-week computer class that teaches Microsoft office at an intermediary level. Becky and Maliki are not only amazing at what they do, but they are kind, caring and understanding. They create an open, warm and inviting environment for our job seekers to learn in! For many people we are supporting, they have not worked in years. For them to come to a class like this is important and often their first step in getting back to work! We highly recommend T4T to anybody.

As the Manager of the BSD Parent University Program, I have had the opportunity to work closely with Vijay Desai and staff at Technology for Tomorrow. T4T was able to provide an excellent series of classes to help train participants in our program, as well as my staff, on the use of Google Suite. Parent University participants come from many different countries and speak many different languages. Our instructor, Maliki LaForce, worked exceptionally well with our group and was adept at maintaining a steady, orderly pace of instruction. He prepared excellent visual materials, live demonstrations of the material, a review of the material and an opportunity for Q and A . He was unphased by the breaks that were needed for the interpreters to relay the information to the learners and for them to ask questions in return. Vijay Desai, Maliki LaForce and all of the staff that I have met have been, not only exceptionally knowledgeable and professional but personable as well. I look forward to working with Technology for Tomorrow again in the very near future.

An older adult in our iPad program learned how to use the iPad to attend Zoom meetings with the doctor and also use it for playing card games with other people for entertainment. The person is now excited about the opportunities the iPad has to offer and the training we provide to help them access various new opportunities.

A participant in our older adults program had never used the internet for various services and conveniences before, including for renewing the vehicle registration with the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) and shopping online. During an hour-long Zoom session, we were able to learn how and execute the renewal of the vehicle registration with the DMV as well as utilize online shopping to purchase some personal items in order to save time and not have to go to the store.
