This week, Maliki LaForce attended the Dad’s Night event hosted by The Janet S. Munt Family Room. Dad’s Night is an informal 2 hour session where dads can bring their kids to have fun, while learning about a new topic and asking questions directly to a community organization. Working with fathers of young children, Maliki discussed Children’s Internet Safety and online protection. Instead of a standard class, the evening consisted of a number of conversations, providing the personal touch Maliki is known for!
After the session, Maliki noted “I got to meet with a couple of dads and talked a lot about the access children have to the internet and how parents can help steer their children into healthy digital habits. Whether it be blacklisting certain topics with your ISP, teaching them that they shouldn’t interact with strangers online, or identifying programs that start bad habits, the conversations were clear: The dads want to ready their children for a digital world. I look forward to returning in the future!”
We’d like to thank both the Family Room and Damon Savage for inviting us and running the entire event. It was a fantastic experience, and we can’t wait to attend again!
