U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants mission is to protect the rights and address the needs of persons in forced or voluntary migration worldwide and support their transition to a dignified life. We build bridges between New Americans and their communities. We build bridges that connect different communities to each other—accentuating our similarities and celebrating our differences. We built bridges across America to places around the globe where people are denied a voice.
AARP is the largest interest and advocacy group in the US for those 50 and older. The partnership gives T4T access to AARP’s instructional resources for seniors, and expands the communication channels for promoting T4T’s mission and events across Vermont to AARP’s membership and beyond. T4T also works with the AARP national office to provide feedback on their curriculum and help shape its evolution, while also gaining insight into AARP’s next generations of technology instruction.
The Central Vermont Council on Aging is the leading expert and advocate in healthy aging for Central Vermonters. At Central Vermont Council on Aging, we respect the wishes of aging persons to age at home, remain healthy, and stay active and connected to the communities they know and love.
Age Well is committed to helping individuals age well, we reduce barriers by providing access to healthy meals, in-home care and community resources. Delivered by staff members and over 1,000 incredible volunteers, our sought-after services are designed to meet the diverse needs of our clients, their families and caregivers. We do not charge for services provided. As a nonprofit, we rely on donations and encourage clients to contribute if they are able to do so.
The Burlington School District Parent University is an innovative educational model that promotes learning for parents of BSD students through a holistic multi-generational approach, taking families’ challenges, needs, and educational goals into account for maximum impact on student success. The program teaches parents about the American school system and expectations, as well as valuable skills and knowledge that benefit both families and children (i.e. parenting skills, budgeting, First Aid CPR certification etc.). Parent University promotes an inclusive school culture, helping participants to feel welcome and valued in their school community.
The NEK Council on Aging serves residents in Caledonia, Orleans and Essex Counties of Vermont. We are focused on finding new directions for our older Vermonters to live well, their way. We are committed to providing person-centered care and lifestyle options that inform, encourage, inspire, and support older adults as they take steps to focus on lifelong learning, active lifestyles, and healthy aging.
The Connecticut Healthy Living Collective (CHLC) is comprised of state, regional and local agencies and organizations dedicated to healthy aging in communities throughout our state, and to providing leadership and visibility for the challenges and opportunities faced by Connecticut’s growing aging population.
